Retirement Visas

Retirement visas for Australia are available to applicants age 55 or over, to apply you must have no dependants (other than a spouse), and you must be able to be self-supporting in whilst in Australia without cost to Australia's social and welfare services.
General requirements
• You must be 55 years of age or more (if you are the principal applicant).
• You (and your spouse/de facto partner if applicable) must have no dependent children or other dependent family members.
• You (and your spouse/de facto partner if applicable) must have no intention of working full-time in Australia. Retirement visa holders in Australia are allowed to work up to 20 hours per week (condition 8104 ‘limited work rights’).
• You must be of good character.
What does this visa let me do?
If you are granted this visa you can:
- work in Australia for up to 20 hours per week
- travel in and out of Australia any number of times as long as your visa is valid
- live in Australia for four (4) years
- have your spouse accompany you to Australia
