To be eligible for a working holiday visa for Australia you will need to hold passport from one of the following countries:
- Belgium
- Canada
- Cyprus
- Denmark
- Estonia
- Finland
- France
- Germany
- Ireland
- Italy
- Japan
- Korea
- Malta
- The Netherlands
- Norway
- Sweden
- Taiwan
- United Kingdom
- United States of America*
* United States passport holders must apply for an Australian Work & Holiday Visa instead.
You must have no dependent children, or if you do and they will not be travelling with you, your application can be processed manually. Please contact us for more information.
You will also need to meet certain medical, financial and character requirements.
Once your Australian working holiday visa has been granted, you will have 12 months to activate it by entering Australia. After your visa has been activated, it will allow you to stay in Australia for up to 12 months from the date of first entry.
The Australian working holiday visa also allows multiple entry, which means you may leave and re-enter Australia as many times as you wish in that 12 month period.
You will be able to work in Australia for the full 12 months, however you may only stay with any single employer for a maximum of 6 months.
This type of visa will also allow you to study or train for up to a maximum of 4 months.
