Australian Student Visa

Australian-Tourist-Visas specialise in arranging all aspects of Australian student visas.

If you intend to study in Australia for longer than 3 months, you must apply for an Australian Student Visa. You are not permitted to travel to Australia if you intend to study for longer than 3 months without the appropriate Australian student visa.

To be able to obtain the correct Australian student visa to study in Australia, you must first be fully enrolled in an Australian intitution and have received a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).

This will be issued by the Australian institution you will be attending. The forms are usually issued after tuition fees have been received.

In addition to requiring your confirmation of enrolment you will require Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). OSHC is compulsory and you will not be able to apply for your Australian student visa until you have purchased a policy that is recommended by your host university. All applicants are also required to meet health and character requirements.

What does this visa let me do?

As an international student, you will be permitted to work a maximum of 20 hours per week during term time. These restrictions are lifted during holidays.
Family members will also be entitled to work, however, not until the student has begun their course.
Bring any eligible secondary applicants with you to Australia. Secondary applicants can work and study.*
After entering Australia, you will have no limit on the amount of times you travel in and out of Australia.

* This type of visa also allows your spouse to study for up to 3 months. However, if your spouse wants to study for longer they must apply for their own student visa.
Applications can be made from within Australia.

The Australian student visa allows you to study for the period of your course, as well as take family members with you to accompany you during your stay. You will have to declare on your application that you are able to financially support yourself and family members for the duration of your stay.
